Artist's Statement

"Color uplifts my art like love uplifts a person.   Music is the primary inspiration for my often whimsical color-filled semi-abstract paintings.   I let myself be led spontaneously  through whatever subject matter I am working on.  I hear a tune, feel the colors and go with it to see where I land."

Cherie received as Associate of Applied Science of Arts from Triton College and a BFA in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.    Her work has been exhibited at the Anti Cruelty Society, Oak Park Hospital and has appeared on the cover of music cds by MSS Publishing, Orb Recordings and Louis Records.   Cherie's latest and greatest CD cover was for A440Music Group, Chicago, created for jazz guitarist Henry Johnson and jazz singer Nancy Wilson.

Cherie teaches art to 3rd - 7th graders at  Bethlehem Lutheran School in River Grove, IL.

Cherie's artwork has appeared on several covers of the theatrical magazine Footlights.
