Artist's Statement

"The collaboration of two or more forces in which the combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effect is known as synergy.   These paintings explore the influences of synergy;  I have fused color together with code.   These paintings represent a key that allows primitive or ancestral receptivity within the view to open.

The concepts I addressed in these paintings are symbols or a coded language dealing with the effects of color.   These works reflect my interest in the formal elements of color and how it reacts when combined with various symbols.   We all have symbols that hold certain information for us.  The information can be cultural, universal, spiritual or just a way to visualize information.   These paintings generate a dialogue and art thus provokes a process of deciphering within the viewer."
