SKOKIE ROCKS

Hide and Seek Painted Rocks in your choice of Skokie Parks!

For a list of public parks in Skokie: https://www.skokieparks.org/

Skokie Rocks is an ongoing community-wide arts outreach program where families and persons of all ages and abilities are invited to design, paint, hide and seek painted river rocks.   Rock painters are asked to label the underneath side of their rocks with skokierocks.org before hiding them in and around Skokie’s parks and walking trails.

“Rock Hunters” are invited to seek out the rocks, post, share and view images of the found rocks on our Skokie Rocks Facebook social media page.

The Skokie Rocks program is ongoing, and through social media, is a safe and socially distanced way for individuals of different communities and languages to connect and communicate through art who might not otherwise have anyone or anything in common.

A little like a game of hide and seek, Skokie Rocks invites you to hide a painted rock – a secret place, but not too hard to find.

The rocks are there to brighten your day!   Hiding it is only half the fun.   Finding a rock that someone else hid completes the cycle.

Once you find a rock, take a photo and post it on Skokie Rocks Facebook page to share with your neighbors and friends.

Don’t forget to label underneath your rock: www.SkokieRocks.org

ROCK HUNTERS:   Submit a photo of your found rock on the Skokie Rocks Facebook page:

After posting the found rock, you can re-hide it for someone else to find or decide keep it.  The choice is yours!
